Why Are the Judges Ruining American Idol?
What is going on with American Idol? After the debacle of last season, it would appear that the judges and producers are not going to make the same mistake again. Instead of truly allowing the audience and American Idol fans to choose the winners and losers, the judges and producers themselves are guiding the competition.
Certain contestants have not been given a fair chance on season seven of American Idol. For example, Syesha Mercado cannot catch a break from the judges. She has proven herself to be a remarkable talent, and she has improved on a weekly basis. Not only can the girl sing, but she can perform. The ability to perform is something that is often lacking on American Idol, but Syesha delivers time and time again. When she is on the stage, it is as if a real star is giving a concert. And yet, her performances and song choices are ripped apart time and time again. She gets accused of shrieking and being too “Broadway.” Also, the judges ridicule her for choosing lesser known songs, even if she performs them well.
It’s as if the judges have made up their minds before she even hits the stage.
On the other side of the coin is David Archuleta. Archuleta can choose obscure songs, just like Syesha, and he is praised for it. He can stand in the exact same spot that he does in every performance, sing the exact same type of song, and he is praised. It is almost sickening, the amount of praise the judges heap on Archuleta. It is as if they have made up their minds that he is going to be the next American Idol, and they will do what they can to help him along.
Sanjaya managed to forever change American Idol. He caused producers to think that the American public cannot adequately think for themselves. Therefore, they are guiding the competition in an attempt to boost the show back up. There is a good chance that this will backfire.
The point of American Idol is for viewers to vote for their favorites. Judges should not give false critiques in order to manipulate viewers. It is obvious that they want a David versus David finale, and they will sell their souls to get it.

I could not agree more with this article. I am a huge David Cook fan but Syesha has really stepped it up lately.
The judges are so full of Archuleta that they cant even appreciate the other contestants.
Jason just needs to go–although, I did not think he was as bad as the judges did last night.
The judges are crazy this year, and the show is becoming a joke. They need to get back to focussing on talent again.
