Pizza and Beer TV

Published by amyc at 4:37 pm under entertainment, television Edit This

We all have our shows that are possibly a little lowbrow. Pizza and beer television shows are the backbone of this country. They’re the kind of shows that you order some pizza, drink a twelve pack, watch, and laugh. We can watch those shows (in the dark, with the curtains drawn, of course) and not have to use our brains to entertain ourselves. It’s all about having fun while watching tv.

While we all like some “pizza and beer” tv, we don’t always own up to it. However, I would like to start a revolution. Get out your six packs and don’t be embarrassed anymore. Enjoy the brain candy that pizza and beer television gives us.

Take, for instance, The Sarah Silverman Program. Are Sarah and her dysfunctional friends going to win a Nobel Peace Prize? I really hope not, because that would take away the fun. Is Sarah going to get herself into some ridiculous predicament, mainly do to her questionable morals? Of course! I would expect nothing less.

The Sarah Silverman Program is a funny take on the life of a single lady and her friends and family. In a word, the show is crazy. It’s the craziness that pushes the envelope and makes it one of the funniest shows on television.

Silverman is one of the few people who is able to get away with shows about necrophilia of family members and black face to funny results. Silverman’s character is so clueless that she can do about anything for cheap laughs.

If you’re caught up on all of The Sarah Silverman Program’s episodes, then check out Kenny Vs. Spenny. This show is, quite possibly, the most moronic show on television. Yes, it is hilarious. Kenny and Spenny have a crazy competition each episode. They might see who can stand up the longest, or who can eat the most meat. Then, at the end of the episode, a winner is declared.

Thought provoking televison? Of course not. Funny? You bet.

Sometimes, in an effort to seem as smart as our peers, we talk up those meaningful shows.

We all need a little craziness sometimes. I’m on my way to get a six pack, draw the shades, and see if Sarah Silverman and her friends get the Nobel Peace Prize.
