Do We Really Want Another Michael Moore Movie?

Published by amyc at 3:52 pm under entertainment, movies Edit This

Someone put a microphone and a video camera back in Michael Moore’s face, giving him the idea that he should create yet another “documentary.” The word “documentary” should be used loosely, of course, as no one really knows where the truth ends and the fiction begins. At best, Michael Moore’s documentaries offer a biased view of the world in general. At worst, they are malicious tales hatched to make certain people look even worse than they already do to the public.

Moore is currently developing a follow up to the controversial “Fahrenheit 9/11.” While “Fahrenheit” marketed itself as a documentary, it appeared to most that Moore had taken some very big creative liberties in order to gain an audience. Unfortunately, his message got lost in the muck of his imagination. Instead of portraying a nation that was struggling under the pressure of a terrorist attack, he played the old political game of making things look a certain way. Smoke and mirrors directing is a Michael Moore staple.

Do we really need filmmakers such as Moore clogging down the already overly full movie shelves? Just as I would not want to see an Ann Coulter documentary, I have no place in life for a Michael Moore docudrama.

Unfortunately, people eat it up.

There should be certain integrity in documentaries. Documentaries should be factual.

The worst thing about Michael Moore’s movies is they insult our intelligence as a nation. Do we really believe the things he said, or do we realize they are for a political reason? Democrats and Republicans alike have called Michael Moore out for what he is. He is a coward and a hater who is using film to spread lies and propaganda.
